Our group had a fantastic time! We explored local golf courses, including the scenic Dornoch and the highly regarded Tain Golf Club. The cozy beds and friendly service made our stay even better. The easy access to the coast offered lovely walks right from the hotel!
We had no interaction with staff during our stay, which was a bit odd. Breakfast was limited to a make-yourself setup since the property was transitioning ownership.

great stay but room could use updates
The breakfast was substantial and exceeded my expectations. I truly appreciated the personalized service, especially when the hostess offered to handle our laundry, which allowed us to enjoy more of our trip.
The room's rustic furnishings felt a bit outdated.

This place suits me perfectly with great wi-fi, a flat-screen TV, and a kettle. On my first stay, the staff gave me taxi tips, which I still remember. I can't wait to return!

perfect base for nearby distilleries and beautiful walks
During my stay, I experienced incredible hospitality from the family running the place, and the food was out of this world, making me feel right at home while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Tain, including walks along the scenic Aldie Burn which is just over a kilometer away. as a solo traveler, I appreciated the clean and comfortable room that catered to all my needs, but I did notice the property was slightly on the tired side, which could use a bit of fresh paint in some areas.

I spent two nights at Carnegie Lodge and overall found it quite nice. The room was clean and spacious, really comfortable, and I appreciated the warm atmosphere created by the staff. Breakfast portions were generous and satisfying. I enjoyed a full Scottish breakfast that was well-cooked. The location was great, with easy access to nearby golf courses and lovely coastal walks. Unfortunately, the main door of the hotel banged shut loudly when guests entered or exited, which disrupted the peaceful ambiance at times. I noticed some areas of the hotel seemed a bit tired and in need of fresh décor. Nonetheless, the staff, especially Heather, were exceptionally helpful, and I felt well taken care of during my stay. This place has potential with just a bit of attention to detail.

I went with a group of golfers for a night and found the dinner to be good with a variety of specials. The rooms were comfortable and the staff provided friendly service. We were within walking distance of the town center and had free parking available. It was ideal for our needs as we enjoyed our time together without any stress.
The area was quieter than I expected, and the overall setting felt a bit residential. The lack of activities in the nearby vicinity made it seem a bit limiting.
